Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone each time you log in, after your password. Someone who learns your password still can't get in without your phone.

Before you start

  • Install an authenticator app on your phone, like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Any app that makes time-based codes works.
  • Security settings ask you to confirm your password first. If you signed up with Google and have no password yet, TicketPa asks you to create one. See Sign in with Google.

Steps to turn on 2FA

  1. Select your initials at the top right of the dashboard, then Settings.
  2. Select Security, and confirm your password if TicketPa asks.
  3. Under Two-factor authentication, select Enable 2FA.
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can't scan it, enter the setup key shown under "or, enter the code manually" in the app instead. Select Continue.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and select Confirm.

If you close the window before you confirm, select Continue setup to go back to it. If you leave the page, setup starts over with Enable 2FA.

Keep your recovery codes

Once 2FA is on, the 2FA recovery codes box appears. Select View recovery codes to see your 8 codes, and save them somewhere safe, like a password manager. Each code works once, in place of a code from your phone. A code you use is swapped for a new one, so check the box again for your current codes after using one.

To get a fresh set, select Regenerate codes while the codes are showing. The old codes stop working.

Log in with 2FA

  1. Log in with your email and password, or with Continue with Google.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and select Continue.

If you don't have your phone, select login using a recovery code under the button, enter one of your recovery codes and select Continue. See Log in and reset your password for the rest of logging in.

Note: Without your phone or a recovery code, you can't finish logging in. If you've lost both, email our support team.

Turn off 2FA

Go to Settings, then Security, and select Disable 2FA. It turns off straight away, and logging in no longer asks for a code.
