When a guest pays you in cash, on your own card terminal or by bank transfer, record it on their booking with Take a payment. It updates what they still owe, and TicketPa takes no fee on it.
Steps to take a payment
- Go to Bookings in the sidebar and open the booking.
- Under Tickets and payment, select Take a payment.
- Under How the guest paid, choose Cash, Card on site or Bank transfer.
- Check the Amount. It starts at what is still to pay. Enter less to record part of it.
- Select Record payment.
Paid goes up and Still to pay goes down. The payment is listed on the booking with your name, and the timeline shows Payment taken.
Take a payment at check-in
Anyone on your team can take a payment on the day, Hosts included:
- On a time slot's guest list, select Take payment next to the guest.
- After scanning a guest's ticket, select Take followed by the amount, like Take €40.00.
Both open the same window as on the booking. They work from the day of the booking on. See how to check in guests.
Which bookings can take a payment
- Bookings that are Confirmed, Checked in or No-show, with something still to pay.
- Up to what is still to pay. For a larger amount, TicketPa tells you how much is left.
- When a payment covers everything still owed and the guest also has a payment link open, the link closes, so they can't pay twice.
Note: Money taken in person can't be refunded through TicketPa. If you cancel the booking or want to give some back, you return it to the guest yourself.
