How TicketPa and FareHarbor differ

Who pays, and how much

FareHarbor is free for the business and charges a booking fee on each booking, which guests usually pay: 6% for businesses with under $35,000 a year in online bookings. It doesn't publish the rate above that. TicketPa charges the business a monthly plan and 0.5% to 2% of online payments. By default you pay that fee, so guests pay only your price, and you can add it to the guest's price instead.

Card payments

FareHarbor processes payments itself, through Stripe, Adyen and PayPal, and takes its processing fee from your payouts; it doesn't publish the rate. TicketPa takes online payments through your own Stripe or PayPal account, so their standard fees apply and the money goes straight to you.

Marketplaces

FareHarbor connects to more than 250 marketplaces, including Viator, GetYourGuide and Airbnb, and charges 2% on bookings that come through them. TicketPa syncs with Viator and GetYourGuide, so places stay in step across your booking page and both marketplaces.

Getting started

FareHarbor starts with a demo, and its team builds your dashboard before you go live. With TicketPa you set up your activities, schedules and booking page yourself, with a 30-day free trial of Standard and no card needed.

On the day

Both have digital waivers and QR check-in. FareHarbor has a free iOS and Android app that also checks guests in offline, and its own waivers in some regions. TicketPa runs in your phone's browser with nothing to install, and includes waivers in Standard and Pro.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is FareHarbor free?

FareHarbor has no monthly fee for the business. It charges a booking fee instead, which guests usually pay: 6% for businesses with under $35,000 a year in online bookings, according to its help center. It also charges 2% on bookings from marketplaces connected through its API.

Which is cheaper, TicketPa or FareHarbor?

It depends on who you want to pay. On a $100 booking, a FareHarbor guest typically pays $6 on top. On TicketPa the guest pays $100, and the business pays a monthly plan of $19 to $99 plus 0.5% to 2% of online payments, or adds that fee to the guest's price if it chooses. Card fees are separate on both.

Can I keep selling on Viator and GetYourGuide with TicketPa?

Yes. TicketPa syncs with Viator and GetYourGuide, so a booking on either takes the place on your booking page too. For other marketplaces, like Airbnb or Booking.com, FareHarbor's wider connections fit better.

Can I switch from FareHarbor to TicketPa?

Bookings you already took stay in your old system, so run both until those dates pass. Add your activities, prices and schedules in TicketPa, then swap the Book now button on your website for the new one.
