# Sign in with Google

If you see **Continue with Google** on the log in or sign-up page, you can use your Google account instead of a TicketPa password. The button only shows when Google sign-in is available.

## Steps to sign in with Google

1. Go to [ticketpa.com](https://ticketpa.com/) and select **Log in** or **Create your account**.
2. Select **Continue with Google**. On the log in page it sits at the top, and on the sign-up page it's under the email field.
3. Choose your Google account on Google's page.
4. TicketPa opens your dashboard, or asks for your business details if you're new.

TicketPa keeps you logged in on that device, as if you had ticked **Remember me**.

## New and existing accounts

- **No TicketPa account yet**: Google creates one with your Google name and email address. Google has already checked the address, so there is no confirmation email. Continuing means you agree to the terms shown under the button.
- **An account with the same email address**: Google signs you in to it and links the two, so you can use either from then on. If you hadn't confirmed that email yet, it counts as confirmed now.

Google has to have confirmed your email address. If it hasn't, TicketPa says "Google did not confirm your email address. Sign up with your email and a password instead."

> **Note:** If a business invites you, the invitation goes to an email address. Sign in with the Google account that uses that address, and the invitation is waiting for you.

## Good to know

- Two-factor authentication still applies. After Google, TicketPa asks for the code from your authenticator app. See [Turn on two-factor authentication](https://ticketpa.com/help/two-factor-authentication).
- An account made with Google has no password. When you open **Security** in your settings, TicketPa first asks you to create one under **Create a password**. See [Change your name, email or password](https://ticketpa.com/help/update-your-profile).
- You need a password to delete your account, as you confirm the deletion with it.
- If you cancel on Google's page, TicketPa shows "Signing in with Google was cancelled." Select **Continue with Google** to try again.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I log in with a password instead?

Yes, once you have one. Create it in **Settings**, then **Security**, then log in with your email address and that password. **Continue with Google** keeps working too.

### Can I unlink my Google account?

Not from TicketPa. The link to Google is removed when you delete your account.
