# Set prices for an activity

An activity's prices live on its **Pricing** tab: ticket types, a price for a private group and extras, in the order guests see them. You need at least one ticket or private group price before you can publish.

## Kinds of price

| Kind              | What it is                                              | Places it takes           |

## Steps to add a price

1. Go to **Activities** in the sidebar, open the activity and select the **Pricing** tab.
2. Select **Add price**.
3. Choose **Ticket**, **Private group** or **Add-on**. You can't change the kind later.
4. Fill in the price:
    - **Name**: like Adult, Child or Photo package, up to 80 characters.
    - **Description**: optional, like "Ages 12 and up".
    - **Price in** your currency: a number, with a point for the decimals, like 25.50.
    - **People per ticket**: for a ticket, how many places one ticket takes, from 1 to 50.
    - **Largest group**: for a private group, the most people it can have.
5. Leave **Guests can choose it** ticked to offer it straight away.
6. Select **Add price**.

## How private groups work

- A guest can book a private group only on a time slot nobody has booked yet. It then takes every place, so nobody else joins.
- The group can have up to **Largest group** people, and never more than the places in the time slot.
- A private group is booked on its own, without tickets. Add-ons can go with it.
- When the activity has tickets too, guests see a box to book it just for their group. With one private group price, your description shows under it, or a line saying nobody else joins.
- With more than one private group price, such as a small and a large group, guests pick one, in the order of your list. Each shows its description, or its **Largest group**.

## Change, make team-only, reorder or remove a price

- **Change**: select the pencil icon, make your changes and select **Save price**. Bookings already made keep the name and price they were booked at.
- **Make it team-only**: untick **Guests can choose it**. The price shows **Team only**: guests don't see it on the booking page, and your team can still pick it with **New booking** and for walk-ins, marked **Team only**. Use it for local, partner or free rates you give out yourself. Bookings that have it keep it.
- **Reorder**: use the up and down arrows. Guests see the prices in this order.
- **Remove**: select the trash icon, then **Remove price**. Guests can no longer choose it, and past bookings keep what they paid for.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is an add-on enough to publish?

No. Publishing needs a ticket or private group price with **Guests can choose it** ticked. See [Publish, unpublish or archive an activity](https://ticketpa.com/help/publish-an-activity).

### Can a price be 0?

Yes. Enter 0 for a free ticket or a free add-on.

### How do I limit how many people one booking can have?
