# Move a booking to another time

Updated 2026-10-14 by the TicketPa team. Source: https://ticketpa.com/help/move-a-booking

Move a booking when a guest wants to come at another time of the same activity. Its places move with it, the guest keeps the same ticket and QR code, and you choose whether they get an email about it.

## Steps to move a booking

1. Go to **Bookings** in the sidebar and open the booking.
2. Select **Move to another time** at the top of the booking.
3. Pick the **Date**. The window lists that day's other open time slots of the activity, each with the places left. A time slot without enough room shows **Not enough places**.
4. Select the **New time slot**.
5. Tick **Charge today's prices** to price the booking at the activity's current prices. Otherwise it keeps the price the guest booked at.
6. Leave **Email the guest** ticked to send them their new time, or untick it.
7. Select **Move booking**.

**Email the guest** only shows for confirmed bookings with an email address.

## Move an appointment or change who it is with

1. Open the booking and select **Move to another time**, or **Change** next to **With**.
2. Pick the **Date** and who it is **With**: a person, or **Anyone available**.
3. Pick a new time. Only times when someone works and is free show. The appointment's own time shows as **Same time** when you pick another person.
4. Choose whether to **Charge today's prices** and **Email the guest**, then select **Move booking**.

To change only the person, keep the date, pick the person and select the same time.

## What happens next

- The booking moves to the new time slot, and its places on the old one go back on sale.
- The timeline shows **Moved to another time** with the old and new times. If the guest was emailed, it also shows **New time emailed**. The email gives the new time, the old one, and says their ticket and QR code stay the same.
- With **Charge today's prices**, a higher price is added to **Still to pay**. A lower price gives the difference back to the guest's card, as far as they paid online.
- The automatic reminder goes out again before the new time, unless the new time is already closer than your reminder time.

## Which bookings you can move

- Confirmed bookings, and bookings on hold. Bookings that are checked in, no-shows, awaiting payment, cancelled or expired can't move.
- Only to another time slot of the same activity that is open and hasn't started. The online cut-off and how far ahead guests can book don't apply to your team.
- A private group needs a time slot nobody has booked yet.
- The equipment and spaces the booking uses must be free at the new time. Otherwise TicketPa says what is left, like "Only 1 left at 17:00: Kayaks."

> **Note:** A booking awaiting online payment can't be moved until the guest has paid. Moving a confirmed booking closes a payment link you sent that's still open, as it was for the old time. If the guest still wants to pay ahead, send a new one. A payment that went through before the link closed still counts.

Guests can also move their own booking from their ticket, within limits. See [how guests cancel or move a booking](https://ticketpa.com/help/guests-cancel-or-move).

To move everyone on a time slot at once, change the time slot's date or start time in the calendar instead. Its bookings move with it, and the guests aren't emailed. See [how to edit a time slot](https://ticketpa.com/help/edit-a-time-slot).
