# Delete a business

Updated 2026-10-12 by the TicketPa team. Source: https://ticketpa.com/help/delete-a-business

The Owner can delete a business they no longer run. It closes the business for the whole team and takes its booking page offline. You can't undo it yourself. Our support team can bring a deleted business back, but not its team: everyone would need inviting again.

## Before you delete a business

- **Cancel upcoming bookings first.** TicketPa won't delete a business that still has upcoming bookings, and shows "This business still has upcoming bookings." instead. Cancel them first, so guests are told by email and get back what they paid online. See [Cancel a booking](https://ticketpa.com/help/cancel-a-booking).
- **You can't hand the business over.** Its ownership can't move to someone else, so deleting it closes it for everyone.
- **Only want to stop working there?** If you don't own the business, leave it instead. See [Change a member's role or remove them](https://ticketpa.com/help/change-roles-or-remove-members).

## Steps to delete a business

1. Go to **Team and settings** in the sidebar.
2. Under **Delete business** at the bottom of the page, select **Delete business**.
3. Type the business name exactly as it shows, with the same capitals and spaces.
4. Select **Delete business**.

TicketPa shows "Business deleted." and takes you to your list of businesses.

## What happens next

- Your booking page goes offline, so guests can no longer book.
- Guests who open an old ticket link see that the business has closed, with what they booked for their records and your contact details. The ticket can no longer be paid, signed, moved or cancelled.
- Everyone on the team loses access, and pending invitations are cancelled. Team members who were working in the business switch to another of theirs.
- Its short name stays reserved, so your old links never lead to another business.
- Your own account stays. Set up a new business with **New business**, or see [Delete your account](https://ticketpa.com/help/delete-your-account) to close your account too.
