# Add a Book now button to your website

A Book now button on your website takes visitors straight to your booking page. TicketPa gives you the code for two kinds of button, ready to paste, in your accent colour.

## Steps to add the button

1. Go to **Share** in the sidebar.
2. Under **Book now button**, check the **Preview**. It shows the button in your accent colour.
3. Choose a button and select **Copy code** next to it:
    - **Plain button (works everywhere, even in emails)**: a link that looks like a button. Use it on any website, in emails and in newsletters.
    - **Button that opens booking in a window next to your site**: on a computer, your booking page opens in a small window while your site stays open behind it.
4. Paste the code into your website's HTML where the button should show.

## How the window button behaves

- On a computer, selecting the button opens your booking page in a window 480 pixels wide, at the right of the browser window.
- On a phone or any screen narrower than 640 pixels, it opens your booking page like a normal link.
- When a visitor holds Ctrl, Cmd or Shift while selecting it, the browser opens the link its usual way, like in a new tab.
- When the browser blocks the window, your booking page opens like a normal link instead.

The window button adds a small script from TicketPa to your page. Where scripts can't run, like in emails, it shows as a plain text link, so use the plain button there.

## Change the button

- **Words**: change "Book now" in the code to any words you like.
- **One activity**: replace the link in the code (the address after `href=`) with the activity's link from **One activity** on the **Share** page. See [Share your booking page](https://ticketpa.com/help/share-your-booking-page).
- **Several buttons**: paste the code everywhere you want a button. Every link with `data-ticketpa` on the page becomes a button.
- **One language**: pick a language under **Link language** on the **Share** page before you copy the code, and the button opens your booking page in that language. See [Booking page languages](https://ticketpa.com/help/booking-page-languages).

> **Note:** The colours are written into the code when you copy it. After you change your accent colour on the **Booking page**, copy the code again and replace the old one on your website. See [Customise your booking page](https://ticketpa.com/help/customise-your-booking-page).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use my own button style?

Yes. In the plain button, change the style written in the code. In the window button, change `data-ticketpa` to `data-ticketpa="link"`: the script then leaves your link's own style alone and still opens the booking window.

### Does the button work in emails and newsletters?

Use the plain button. It is an ordinary link with its look written into it, so it works without any script.
